George Allan Jones

George Allan Jones, 89, of Horseshoe Bend, departed this life on Saturday, June 3, 2023.  He was born on February 24, 1934 in Waukesha, Wisconsin, to William John Jones and Mildred Elizabeth Jones.

George served our country in the United States Marine Corp from December 5, 1951 until December 4, 1955.  He retired from the United States Postal Service in 1996.  

He and Erdine Louise Krenke were married in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on November 26, 1976 and enjoyed over forty-four years of marriage, until her death on June 4, 2020. They had lived in the Horseshoe Bend community since 1995.

George was a member of the American Legion, Kiwanis Club of Horseshoe Bend, and the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Horseshoe Bend.  He and Erdine joined the church on February 9, 1997.

George is preceded in death by his wife, parents, sister, and brother.  

There will be a Memorial Service, in memory of George and Erdine, on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, with Pastor David Tews officiating.  

Following the Memorial Service, George will be placed along his wife in the Eveningin Shadow Cemetery in Horseshoe Bend.
