Jackie Reeves Barnes, 76, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, passed away, Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016 at Crown Point Nursing and Rehab in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas. He was born in Cushman, Arkansas on July 4, 1939, a son of the late Anna Faye (Wood) and Bob Barnes. He attended Cushman High School and graduated in 1959, he then attended Batesville College and graduated within two years. He then started working at the Rubber Plant in Batesville. He married Shirley Hill in the 60's and moved to Kansas City, Missouri. After moving to Kansas City he went to at General Motors in Leeds, where he worked for 29 years and then retired. Jackie was also a cabinet maker, CPA and tax preparer. He spent 8 years in the United States Army and 4 years in the National Guard. After being in Kansas City he finished college at Pen College. Him and Shirley spent 31 years Grandview, Missouri and then they moved to Arkansas. Jackie is survived by his wife, Shirley of over 50 years; one daughter, Michelle Glaviano and husband Don of Raymour, Missouri; one son, Philip Barnes; 4 grandsons; one brother, Mitchelle Barnes of Mabelvale, Arkansas; one brother in law, Larry Hill and wife Donna of Melbourne; one niece and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Faye Barnes; set of twins; one son, Terry Barnes; two half sisters; one half brother; nieces; nephews; and lots of cousins.

Memorial service will be held, Sunday, March 6, 2016 beginning at 2:30 PM at Barren Fork Cemetery in Mount Pleasant, Arkansas with Rev. David Schaller and Rev. Walter Price officiating.
