John B. Bencsik

John Bela Bencsik, 85, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, formerly from Southwest Chicago, passed away Friday, November 2, 2018 at his home in Horseshoe Bend.

He was born in Puspokmalnari, Hungary on July 1, 1933, son of the late Janos and Josephine (Korscma) Bencsik. He spent his life as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend. John was united in marriage to the late Sandra Kay Reichel on October 4. 1958 in Chicago, Illinois. During his working years, John worked as a Civil Engineer, owned his own business and also worked in concrete supplies and chemicals. John was of the Lutheran faith and helped build the original All Saints Lutheran Church in Orland Park, Illinois. He had a good heart even though he was not always politically correct. 

John is survived by his daughter, Susan Roberts and husband Tyrone of Palm City, Florida; sons, John William Bencsik and wife Carrie Lynn of Manhattan, Illinois and Jeff Bencsik and wife Carrie Ann of New Lenox, Illinois; nine grandchildren, Christopher Bencsik, Cara Benner and husband Matthew, Rebecca Bencsik, Sara Hill and husband Karl, Tyler Roberts, Michael Milewski, Shannon Bencsik, Abby Bencsik and Danny Bencsik; one great grandchild, Lucas Benner and dog, Gidget, known as the "Walking Watermelon" by John. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Bencsik; parents Janos and Josephine Bencsik; granddaughter, Rachel Bencsik; sisters, Piroshka Bencsik Walcz and Irene Horvath and brothers, Zoltan Bencsik and Zeno Bencsik.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 beginning at 12:00 PM at Doty Family Funeral & Memorial Service in Horseshoe Bend.
