Roy Gene Reed

Roy Gene Reed, 79, of Salem, Arkansas passed away, Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at his home in Salem.

He was born in Knoble, Arkansas on November 6,1945, son of the late Doyle William and Eladis (Carpenter) Reed. During his working years, Roy worked as a mechanic. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether that was boating, fishing, swimming, or working on cars; he enjoyed it all. Roy also enjoyed singing, dancing, and never met a stranger.

Roy is survived by his son, David Reed (Brandi) of Gillespie, Illinois; daughters, Royanna Reed of Salem, Arkansas and Sherri Taylor of Livingston, Illinois; stepson, Andy Tate (Maria) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; brother, Jerry Reed (Ann) of Kansas City, Missouri; sister, Joy Howell of Knoble, Arkansas; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Debbie Reed; second wife, Janice Jackson; son, Joey Fields; stepson, Leslie Tate; parents; brothers, Jack Reed and Elton Reed; and sister, Betty Crump.
