Sammie Lee Harmon

Sammie Lee Harmon, 74, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas passed away Saturday, July 9, 2022, in Batesville, Arkansas.

He was born in Aubrey, Arkansas, on November 20, 1947, son of the late Robert E. Lee and Mable Dean (Helms) Harmon. Sammie served our country in the United States Army for five years. During his time in the Army, he achieved rank of Sergeant and was awarded the Purple Heart. Sammie spent his working years in the sheetrock business. He loved to hunt, fish and ride 4-wheelers and motorcycles. Sammie was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3431 in Horseshoe Bend.

Sammie is survived by his sisters, Shirley Malone of Forrest City, Arkansas and Marie Short of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Sue Davidson and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; one niece; one nephew and other family members.

Graveside services will be Friday, July 15, 2022, beginning at 2:00 PM at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Birdeye.

In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made to the American Cancer Society.
