Shirley Ann Smith, 87, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024, in Salem, Arkansas.
She was born in Brawley, California, on December 5, 1936, daughter of the late Boyce and Alice (Culver) Smith. Shirley was united in marriage to the late Jerry H Walton in 1971 in Las Vegas, Nevada. One of her favorite pastimes was moving and rearranging furniture. She enjoyed painting, going to thrift stores and flower gardening. Shirley was a good cook but would never share any of her recipes. She collected and handmade dolls. Shirley would always make a doll for her children after they had an accident. She was of the Christian faith.
Shirley is survived by her sons, Kenneth Slighton(Rebecca) of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas and George Wright, IV (Tracy) of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; daughters, Sheryl Slighton of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas and Kandy Wright of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; brother, Donald Wesley Smith (Karen) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; sister, Louise Rockwood (Dick) of Winchester, Idaho; grandchildren, Shawn Slighton, Kimberly Negrete, Heather Overly, Jessie Negrete, Jason Negrete, Chelsea Ferguson, Brett Stanfield, DeAnn Slighton and Shirley Olsen; thirteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Walton; daughter, Roxanne Slighton-Borgna; parents and sister, Carol Lungquist.
Burial will be at a later date.
