Virgie B Davisson

Virgie B Davisson, 107, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, passed away, Tuesday, November 8th, 2016 at Crown Point Nursing and Rehab in Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas.  She was born in Farmer City, Illinois on September 18, 1909, a daughter of the late Maudie (Law) and Claybourne Barnett. Virgie married the late James Davisson in Champaign, Illinois on March 22, 1951.  She spent her life as a daughter, sister, wife, aunt and friend.  Her working years were spent as a Food Supervisor at the University of Illinois. She was a member of Horseshoe Bend United Methodist Church. At the age of 95, Virgie took up bowling and received the award of Most Improved Bowler.

Virgie is survived by 4 loving nieces, Sharon Barnett Johnson of Azle, Texas, Linda Barnett of Cisco, Illinois, Marilyn Barnett of White Heath, Illinois and Peggy Sweeny of Battle Ground, Washington; nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband James, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

Visitation will be held Saturday, November 12, 2016 beginning at 1:00 PM with funeral service to follow at 2:00 PM at Horseshoe Bend United Methodist Church, 600 West Church Street, Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas with Rev. Nancy Cameron officiating.  Burial will follow at Evening Shadows Memorial Park in Horseshoe Bend Arkansas.

Pallbearers include: Bob Grey Jr, Jim Grey, Joe Michuda, Stephen Bolton and Tom Ryan.
