Willie James Harris, Jr.

Willie James Harris, Jr., 82, of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, passed away Monday, December 4, 2023, in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Willie was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on April 27, 1941, son of the late Willie James Harris, Sr. and Ruby (Jones) Harris. He was united in marriage to Bonita on February 5, 2005, in Melbourne, Arkansas. Willie served his country in the United States Marines. During his working years, Willie worked as a Vice President at a bank for 25 years and for the United States Postal Service for 25 years. He was a gun collector and enjoyed boating and spending time on the lake.

Willie is survived by his wife, Bonita Harris of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas; son, Willie James Harris, III; daughter, Teedra Harris; brother, Tyrone Harris; sisters, Joyce Cooper, Gwendolyn Harris and Roslind Harris and three grandchildren, Tyron Harris, Tamara Harris, Agassi Penn all of St. Louis, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Donald Harris, Sr. and Calvin Harris and sisters, Marjorie Harris and Cathrine Harris.

There will be a Celebration of Life beginning at 2:00 PM at Firefighters Institute for Racial Equality (F.I.R.E), 1020 N. Taylor Ave., St. Louis, MO 63113. You are welcome to drop by before 2:00 PM if you so wish.
